Kyle Bronson Wins Showdown on the Coast

The STLMS invaded Golden Isles Speedway on October 15th, 16th and 17th for the Showdown on the coast. Thirty eight teams from 5 states were on hand and ready to do battle. Friday night got things started with Wholesale Automotive qualifying and it was Kyle Bronson setting the fast time and picking up the $200 bonus. The entire field was so close during qualifying with mere tenths of seconds separating the field. After qualifying the top... 10 was locked in for the A-Main. Up next were the B-Mains. B-Main number 1 was action packed with two and three wide racing through the field and it was Adam Giles picking up the win, Travis Carter, Kyle Bridges, Joe Kump, and Ben Faircloth rounded out the top five transfer spots. B-Main number 2 rolled out next and was just as action packed. Phillip Cobb set a blistering pace and picked up the win, Jeff Henry, Ryan Van Sickle, Cole Exum and Tristan Sealy rounded out the top five transfer spots. On Saturday the STLMS night started with a consi race with 18 tough competitors set to do battle for their last chance to get in the showdown. When the green flag waved the drivers gave it all they had and when the checkered flag waved it was Ronnie Johnson, Damon Flowers, Blake Spencer, Charlie Flowers, and Woodrow Mullis getting the final transfer positions. The A-Main rolled out and the front row of Kyle Bronson and Rhett Carter led the star studded to the green flag. When the green flag waved it was Bronson and Carter leading the field into turn one side by side, with Bronson taking the lead off turn two. Rhett Carter settled into second and was all over Bronson. Mark Whitener then got into the mix of things running in third. Caution then waved when Carter slung a belt off his power plant. When the race restarted Bronson set the pace and led the field until the checkered flag picking up the win and the $5,000 payday. Mark Whitener was second, Tyler Crowder charged from his ninth starting spot to finish third, Cecil Eunice was fourth and Kyle Van Sickle rounded out the top five. Bronson became the twenty first different winner in twenty three STLMS events. Kitt Sealy finished seventh and edged out Cole Exum who finished in 12th to win the title by only two points. We want to thank everyone for your continued support. Banquet, sponsor, and 2016 race schedule to be posted in a few days.
