Sponsor Update

WILDCAT PERFORMANCE ENGINES will be the sponsor of the fastest qualifier award at our next event at Needmore Speedway on April 25th. The fastest qualifier will receive $200. Wildcat Performance Engines is now located in Moultrie Ga., checkout their new facility if you have not had a chance


The STLMS invaded Cochran Motor Speedway for our fourth event of 2015. There was a near capacity crowd on hand to witness the action. The night started out with Schaeffer's Oil Qualifying and it was Wil Herrington setting the fastest time of the 24 car feild. Herrington received a case of Schaeffer's Racing Oil from representative Kel Madisen for his accomplishment. The field was set and ready for the A-Main when the green waved Herrington and Cole Exum raced door to door into turn 1 and 2. Herrington was able to grab the lead and never look back as he picked up his first ever STLMS victory. Also Herrington became the fourth different winner in our fourth race of 2015. Cole Exum had his best career STLMS finish with his runner up spot and Exum took over the points lead. Jeremy Faircloth, Rhett Carter, and Chase Edge rounded out the top 5 respectively. We want to thank all the sponsors, fans, race tracks, and race teams for their continued support. Our next event will be on April 25, 2015 at Needmore Speedway more details will be posted.

Get ready race fans in addition to some great racing action this Saturday you will have the chance to become the STLMS-COCHRAN MOTOR SPEEDWAY FAN OF THE WEEK. At intermission we will throw out tennis balls to the fans numbered with each drivers car number. If you have the tennis ball of the feature winning driver you will receive $100, a shirt, and a plaque. You will also have the chance to meet the driver and have your photograph taken. Also race fans don't forget things get kicked off at 12 p.m. with the 2nd annual family fun day. There will be a lot of games and activities, free Hunt Brothers Pizza for the kids, and a car show featuring the National Vintage Car Association. We look forward to seeing everybody and thank you for your continued support.


We are excited about the event this weekend at Cochran Motor Speedway. Just a reminder, Friday night there will be open practice from 7 p.m. till 10 p.m. Saturdays race format will begin with a mandatory drivers meeting at 6:30 p.m., practice at 6:45 p.m., and racing will begin at 7:30 p.m. Sample will be taken from RR of feature winner. Our next event will be at Cochran Motor Speedway on Friday April 10th and Saturday April 11th. Friday night will be open practice from 7 p.m. till 10 p.m. On Saturday we will feature a full racing program. Also on Saturday CMS will host the 2nd annual family day. More details to be posted soon.


   On Saturday March 28th the STLMS rolled into Needmore Speedway for its first stop of 2015. There was a large crowd on hand for the event which was the season opener for the track. The night started with the Auto Transmission Sales and Service qualifying. Travis Carter set the fastest time of the night and pick up $200, Gene Ross set the second quick time and received a $100 courtesy of Auto Transmission Sales and Service. Next up was the 40 lap ...A-main and when the green flag waved Carter jump out front and built a commanding lead. The first caution waved on lap 22 when Colby Boyett made contact with the back straightaway wall when Carter was attempting to maneuver around him in lap traffic. Boyett made contact with the right front of Carters machine. Carters machine did not appear to receive any significant damage. On the restart Carter continued to lead the field. Gene Ross and Ivedent Lloyd had a intense battle going on for the second position. Ross and Lloyd ran nose to tail lap after lap, as the race went on and stayed green Lloyd was able to get under and along side of Ross but was not quite able to make the pass for position. When the Checkered flag waved it was Travis Carter picking up his first every STLMS win and the victory also locked him into the TOP GUN SHOOTOUT that will be at Needmore Speedway in November. Gene Ross was second, Ivedent Lloyd was third, Jason Fitzgerald, and Cole Exum rounded out the top 5 respectively. Gene Ross, Jason Fitzgerald, Kelly Walker, KItt Sealy, and Lavon Sloan picked up the Racecar Engineering Gift certificates for there finishes. Matt Perry pick up the Hard Charger award sponsored by Gays Tire Service. Also Kyle Bridges, Kitt Sealy, Matt Perry, and Lavon Sloan picked up bonuses from Ocala Restaurant Supply. Needmore Speedway March 28th

Our next event will be on Saturday March 28th at Needmore Speedway. This event will pay $3,000 to win and the winner will be locked into the Top Gun Shootout. The Top Gun Shootout is the preliminary event for the annual Early Bird 75 at Needmore Speedway in November. On Saturday March 28th the gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 7 p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone and thank you for your continued support.
