FITZGERALD AND WHITENER GET SUPERBOWL WINS

The STLMS kicked of its 2015 season at the annual Superbowl at Golden Isles Speedway on Friday Feb. 6th. The night began with Racecar Engineering time trials. Scott Johnson from Brunswick Ga set the fastest time of the 34 entries with a 15.870. The B-Mains rolled out next on to the speedway and had some great racing action. Travis Carter and Kelly Walker picked up the B-Main wins. Now the field was set for the A-Main. When the Green ...Flag waved the action was unbelievable and kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Jason Fitzgerald was able to grab the lead from his third starting spot and pick up the win. Scott Johnson had a great run in his first career start with the STLMS and finished second. Kitt Sealy had a career best finish coming in third. Hunter Carter did an outstanding job finishing in fourth and Mark Whitener had a solid fifth place finish.
The STLMS action continued on Saturday Feb. 7th. The night began with Racecar Engineering time trials that was presented in part by Auto Transmissions of Meigs Ga. Mark Whitener of Middleburg Fl set the fastest time of the 31 entries with a 15.720. The B-Mains were next on track. The B-Mains again provided great action and Travis Carter and Kyle Van Sickle picked up the B-Main wins. The field was set and ready to go for the A-Main in front of the record crowd. When the field stormed to the green flag Mark Whitener took the lead and never looked backed and picked up his first ever STLMS win. Jason Fitzgerald made a power move with two laps to go coming from seventh to edge out Scott Johnson to finish second. Johnson was third, Rhett Cater had a awesome run in his new car and came home fourth. Kitt Sealy overcame a earlier caution that sent him to the rear of field to finish fifth.
