The STLMS rolled into AMS Saturday night 9-20-2014 for the championship event. The night began with Schaeffer Oil qualifying and Kelly Walker set the fast time of the night. Cale Simons was the second fastest time of the night but when he took the checkered flag in qualifying he made heavy contact with the wall and hi...s car appeared to be done for the night. When it was time for the feature Kelly Walker and Cale Simons, after making repairs to his car, made up the front row for the main event. When the green flag waved Kelly Walker and Cale Simons raced side by side lap after lap battling for the top spot. Walker was eventually able to grab the top spot and hold on to pick up his first ever STLMS win. Cale Simons and his crew did an outstanding job making repairs to his GRT chassis to allow him to make the feature and finish second. Cody Simons finished third and his podium finish allowed him to finish in the 12th and final spot in the championship point standings. Kyle Van Sickle rallied from a early caution to finish fourth and Kitt Sealy finished fifth respectively. The championship literally came down to the last lap and when the checker flag waved Josh Southerlands finish allowed him to clinch the championship by a mere two points over Travis Carter and Kitt Sealy. Travis Carter and Kitt Sealy ended up tied for second. The 2014 season for the STLMS was without a doubt exciting that saw eight different winners and again the points were so close all season long. We want to thank all the sponsors, race tracks, race teams, and fans that supported the STLMS in 2014. We are currently working on the 2015 schedule and are excited about next season.
